- STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING: RETHINKING YOUR STRUCTURES
After the 1950s, de Many water and sanitation works have been built in Europe.
They are now reaching the end of their useful life.
The new regulation of potability and the cost of treatment imply a large-scale renovation of the installations.
This challenge of supplying drinking water requires heavy financial investment from European countries.
THE DENSIFICATION OF URBAN AREAS
Towns and cities are becoming increasingly densely populated, roads are becoming increasingly busy and the existing infrastructure is tending to shrink.
The nature and design of urban infrastructures are changing over time.
This structural trend is changing the nature and design of building infrastructures and mobility projects.
ENSURING USER SAFETY AND ACCESSIBILITY
The operation or any change of use of buildings open to the public (ERP) are subject to various obligations and standards.
There is a single objective: user safety and accessibility.
The lack of knowledge about these buildings, some of which are quite old, means that structural diagnostics have to be carried out.
These combine :
– visual survey and inspection,
– non-destructive investigations,
– destructive investigations.
The goal: to determine the nature and role of the differentstructural elements of the component.
Ces investigations ont deux principaux objectifs :
- - to determine the load-bearing capacity - to recommend reinforcements if the operating loads (NF P 06-001) are not respected.
- – recommend reinforcements if the operating loads (NF P 06-001) are not respected.
Engineering structures in France come in all ages, types and capacities, and their load-bearing structures can vary.
Ils ont différents propriétaires, l’État, les départements, les collectivités mais également les opérateurs de transports publics et privés.
Although the risk of a structure collapsing in France remains low, many of them are ageing. Partial or total closure entails economic and social costs that are difficult to bear.
Asset management to adapt to changes
Managing our heritage enables us to take the necessary conservation action.
Good asset management is based on :
- ongoing monitoring guided by regular detailed inspections
- structural diagnosis and targeted investigations.
- Existing structures are evolving: they need to be structurally adapted to urban changes and changing modes of transport (greening, tramways, etc.).
INFRANEO positions itself as a leader instructural engineering.
Our teams carry out the full range of studies required to maintain the life of structures, including monitoring, rehabilitation studies, works supervision and inspections.
The dual ground/structure skills offer a unique positioning to INFRANEO on the European engineering market.

Infraneo is an engineering consultancy specialising in the structural diagnosis of infrastructure and soil diagnosis, providing comprehensive solutions to our customers' needs. Our expertise therefore includes dual technical skills in soil and structural engineering. This organisation is based on the conviction, born of experience, that soil and infrastructure are intimately linked.
